Silver & Gold / Wolfstar.
“You’re like silver, Sirius. I’ve always preferred it but could never touch. You’re everything I should never want, but everything I’ve ever needed.”

“You should have went to the dorm, Pads.” The dull ache in his back and the sleep deprived feeling only helped prove the point, but Sirius shrugged carelessly, interrupting him. “Yeah, I know.” But I was worried about you, he added silently. The worry was not without reason, because only seconds after he agreed, sounds of pain were heard. The groaning and hissing sent a shiver down his spine, and he grimaced.
Remus’ next question made him roll his eyes, and he shook his head.. “Did I hurt anyone?” Of course not. Not as badly as he hurt himself, anyway. Sure, maybe James was a bit bruised on one side, but that was nothing. Nothing compared to his own injuries, anyway. ”Broken leg, and a few bruises. I think your side..” he trailed off, shaking his head. “You might have a few cuts.”
“Mmm,” Came Remus’ reply, “So it wasn’t too bad then?” He asked as he felt his eyes close some. He was sure that he had worse full moons. Broken legs, bruises, and cuts weren’t anything that he couldn’t handle. He took a few deep breaths and felt the aches and pains move their way through his body. Another groan left his lips and he cracked an eye open. He gave Sirius a tired smile as he looked over at him. He appreciated that Sirius had stayed with him and out of nowhere Remus felt an overwhelming gratitude towards Sirius.
“Thank you.” He said gently as he kept his eyes on the other boy, taking in his features as he did so. “You don’t have to stay here. You can go to the dorm and get you some proper rest if you would like. I’ll be fine, hardly doubt I’ll be moving anytime soon really.” Once more he tried to flash Sirius the best smile he could though he had a feeling that it looked more like grimace than anything.
Hypothetically speaking, Sirius could go a whole month without feeling depressed or guilty or generally like a worthless and very pathetic piece of crap, that on some occasions, he truly believed he was. Of course, in theory, that never happened because there was always the full moon to remind him once again, that he should very much feel guilty for not being able to help out his friend more. Sure, him and James and Peter being there was.. comforting, to both his consciousness and presumably Remus as well, but nonetheless, it didn’t make much of a difference. At least, not a noticeable one, because each and every damn month the fourth Marauder would end up in the hospital looking like the sole survivor of a terrible car crash. This month, Sirius felt like it wasn’t a car crash. It was more like a plane crash.
“Moony?” Came his hoarse voice, sounding sleepy and tired, and Sirius shifted, just like Remus did. He cleared his throat, then ran his fingers through his bedhead hair, smoothing the strands that previously roamed wild back down. “You’ve been asleep for thirteen bloody hours, mate,” he stated, glancing at the clock on the bedside table. Most of which he himself hadn’t been awake for either, but of course there was no need to mention that. The Gryffindor had volunteered to stay with his friend, and since James and Peter were both in detention for mucking up something of Severus’, neither had complained. After having stared at the werewolf for a good hour, a thought had come creeping into his mind. He’s beautiful. You’re creepy. Oh my god. No. What. Go to sleep. Go. To. Sleep. Which he eventually, after suffering from a mild case of mental break down, did; but only after he had positioned his chair in front of Remus’ bed in a way that allowed his head and torso to be on the edge of the mattress, while his legs and bum rested on the wooden seat. It wasn’t very comfortable, but one had to make do. “Feeling better ye- Umff.” Sirius groaned, hands immediately reaching out for his back, and a cracking sound was heard, causing the boy to grimace and shake his head a little. “Shit.”
“Padfoot?” Remus croaked out as the figure came into focus and he heard the other boy’s voice. Remus’ own was raw and hoarse from the howling and the screams from last night but he hoped that Sirius wouldn’t noticed them. Had he really been along that? He still felt utterly exhausted, like he could sleep for days and days. But when Sirius groaned a small frown worked its way onto Remus’ face, “Shouldn’t have stayed here…” He muttered as his eyes closed some once more, “You should have went to the dorm, Pads.” Remus continued as he took a few steadying breaths before moving around some. Which turned out to be a bad idea.
A hiss of pain left his lips followed by a groan. Yes, moving anytime soon seemed to be out of the question for now. Finally after a few moments Remus opened his eyes back up and looked over at Sirius once more, “Did I hurt anyone?” He asked as he felt his body tense some. That was the worse part of the night, not knowing if he had hurt any of his fellow Marauders during the moon. Remus had no idea what he would do if he ever did hurt one of them badly. It in that moment that he realized he should ask how badly the damage to himself was, “What’s the damage?” He asked as he tried to fight to keep his eyes from closing once more, waving a bandaged hand at himself.
Remus did not want to wake up. He knew that once he did he would be in more pain than he was already in during his sleep. His sleeping mind was hazy and his leg was throbbing awful. As much as he tried to fight against it, Remus felt his eyes open very slowly and he was greeted by the Hospital Wing’s ceiling. He tried to move but a low and painful groan left his lips and he quickly closed his eyes against the afternoon light. As he laid there Remus could feel a thin layer of sweat covering his forehead, his fingers curling into the sheets with pain. Another sound of pain left his lips and he did his best to try and remember what Pomfrey had said that morning when he was brought into the Hospital Wing…
Broken leg. Well, that came to no surprise really. As badly as his leg hurt he would have been surprised if it wasn’t broken. And there was something about his side… It gave a dull throb as to remind him. The wolf had gotten him in his side with its claws. He was pretty sure that was all that was wrong and if that was the case, then it was a good moon after all. His mouth felt like someone had stuck a wad of cotton in it, he was parched and his throat was itchy and raw from all the howling.
He moved his head to the side and once more his eyes fluttered back open but this time there was a blurry outline sitting on the chair next to his bed. Remus shifted a bit and a hiss of pain left his lips as he blinked trying to get who ever it was to come into focus.

-huffs, crosses arms- You meant that? Wow, thanks mate. Way to boost my already low self esteem.
So? You’re never going to get anywhere if you don’t take risks, Moony. Besides, I told you, just write them a poem and flip your hair. Do something cool to impress them.
Right…Padfoot. Right.
Will you please just drop it, Sirius? Trust me, who ever I like is never going to happen. There is a million reasons why it’s useless to even try. Alright?
-snorts, then pats his bum, shakes his head dramatically and sighs- It’s okay booty, he didn’t mean that.
You shouldn’t be so insecure, Remus. What’s the worst that could happen? She rejects you. Trust me, it’s not half as bad as it looks when girls do it to me. I just pretend to be sad and all that so they rethink dating me.
No, I really did mean that. -grins-
Insecure is my middle name. However, it’s not as easy as you think. There’s more to it Sirius. The person I like is a really good friend and I don’t want to do anything to put it at risk…
Trust me, I don’t want you. I wouldn’t even touch you with a fifty foot pole.
Oh, pet. I wouldn’t call it a fifty foot pole either. But it’s okay, you can still touch me with it.
Get it through your thick skull. I don’t want to touch you, I don’t like you, and I want nothing to do with you. Piss off.
